I've finally figured out a decent (not ideal) recording setup, so should be able to put a lot more of my patches out there for all to see.
What you can expect:
I tend to enjoy slower music usually, and will likely produce things along those lines. I particularly enjoy the intersection of techno and ambient.
Will it always be something like this? No. Probably not. For one, the AEM is just too much fun and exploring different sounds is unavoidable!
At some point I expect to hit a nice sweet spot, consistency is the ultimate goal.
The current setup:
I currently use my iPad to record video. The iPad is propped up on top of my reel to reel.
I then run the sound into a pretty old MacBook, so old it still has a proper line in.
I record with an awesome (free) program called Hosting AU. This program allows me to run AU/VST plugins where I do some light EQing and live “mastering”. I attempt to dial back some frequencies that might muddy the sound I’m going for.
I then take that audio recording, send it to my iPad where I do my best to combine it with the video.
Comments, critiques, and techniques always welcome!
Again my ultimate goal is to have consistent sound (and visuals). A second pair of eyes and ears is always a plus!
