bearheadwood I seriously love the kid-like colorful drawings all over the modules! Seems like it'd be even more enjoyable to play! Drawn by an actual child! Colouring in Dad's faceplates has kept one particular member of our household busy on several occasions over the last eight months. I knew that had to be the case, they look way too authentic!

very interested in how you've incorporated the Bastl Synapsis there - is it directly compatible with AE (0-5v?) How do you use it in your setup?

It's now screwed with one of the Ae modular box' screw. Just a bit of pickup foam (professionally attached with duck-tap) to avoid it moving around. I usually use it to bring some craziness like lfo into vca without attenuation on a voice, full feedback to a mixer or whatever Noise I'd like to bring for a brake in a track. But now I didn't have enough mixer to bring them into the equation. The good point with the Synapsis is that the connection can be made to many outputs at once (like in a matrix mixer). However, the minus pint is that it is only momentary connection. Cannot be used as a router. If you don't physically push down a pad no connection are getting through... So it will get out of the box as soon as it's full... Last space for the rbss and next order it will go continuing its journey else where!

Momentary madness... I like it! and i like Bastl stuff generally. Very inspiring to see these examples of the interesting things people do with their systems

Very innovative use of the second row! I can recommend the korg nts1. Becoming available used now and an absolute bargain. The free user effects are great.

My rack started undergoing mitosis or maybe it ate after midnight? Here's the breakdown of my layout from top to bottom. I also peppered in several utility modules across the rows in the middle: - CV generation and sequencing
- Oscillators - sound sources on the left and LFOs on the right
- Filters on the left and trigs on the right
- Envelopes alternating with VCAs on the right and more trigs on the left
- Mixers and effects
Then I have an extra rack behind it that has the Master module, some 4i/o, and the headphones output. Its basically an interface rack that I keep off to the side to just keep the cables going in and out of the main rack to a minimum.

How do you find having a single row 16 case on top of the other two? I'd consider adding one to my system, but wonder how well it stays upright!

This is my humble rig so far. This patch is going to be called. 'I just had an altercation with another driver'.

I really just assembled this setup and before I had a 2x16 and 1x16 combo (posted earlier in this thread). So far this setup feels stable and hasn't sagged. My interface rack is another 1x16 rack sitting vertically. I do like my organization of my modules so far. I've found myself using more blue cables, which I interpret that I've moved my commonly combined modules in good proximity to each other.

Here is my system, should be expanded within a few weeks. I personally find that I never have enough patch wires. I have the older ones but the connections aren't great so I've ordered a bundle. New modules are on the way including the Quantizer (for better pitch control), FMOS, Solina Strings and another mixer. Once I've broken out the 2nd case,, I'll probably be buying loads more modules to fill the empty space.

I'm going to show that picture to my gf next time she raises an eyebrow at my extremely modest collection of sound-making machines A friend of mine does a similar thing with holidays. When his wife complains that all they do is look at old bits of engineering equipment for a holiday he points out that his friend (i.e. me) spent two weeks in a classroom learning Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphics, two years running. At that moment she agrees that she can't complain. I do point out that I'm now the one who can translate the monuments in The British Museum
