Just been writing the Wiki page for the Wonkystuff Kaestle; one of the methods of syntheis uses a comparator! I'd never heard of them until this thread....
Just thought you may want to know,

Ordered components are on their way so first prototype should be completed soon.

Ok it's soldering time:
Almost ready:
Let's put on the face plate and solder those headers:
And we're done. Those tolerances, that alignment. mmm mmm.
Now it's testing time and mounting the module in my rack. Fingers crossed, nothing blows up...

Sweeet, well done and must be very satisfying.
Is this purely self development or are you thinking of being a third party develepor as well.

I guess there will be a limited edition kit with, possible need to source your own components, to begin with since I have no clue on shipment etc... But yes my plan is to bring 4COMP eventually to the AE modular audience.

Sweet!
A 'Source your own components' kit is a good idea actually.

It will probably be more economic on shipping to the other side of the planet.

It will probably be more economic on shipping to the other side of the planet. If you want, i can give you info on the cheapest options I found from Belgium. In my experience, BPost is easily the cheapest, costing between 3 to 10€ depending on where you are shipping to. Biggest 'problem' is that you can't find this price category online, you have to go physically to their office and ask for the cheapest option. Also important to note: even if you ship the pcb's as a 'letter', it counts as shipping 'goods' if you send it outside EU. So even for this type of letter you have to fill in papers for customs. If you need any help figuring out posting and customs from Belgium, i'm really glad to help (because honestly, it's a mess to find good info).

I, for one, would pay real money for a 4COMP, even as DIY. (In Denmark FWIW).
