Hey all,
Just got my system yesterday and am having tons of fun. I'm getting kind of a strange issue though where the audio signal will drop drastically for a moment, sort of crackle, and then seems to arbitrarily come back full volume. Anyone else had issues with this? Unplugging and plugging the output to the I/O jack solves the problem instantly so I'm skeptical that this would be something with a particular module.
Regarding the filters, am I correct in understanding that the high pass and low pass inputs should only be routed to their corresponding outputs? I'm finding that the outputs of each particular filter seem to contain audio from all inputs, not just the corresponding ones. I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or not

That's not normal behaviour. Are you using the Master I/O jacks? Maybe check the patch cable and try another one. Also check the audio cable? One thing that I've noted is that the Mixer module will give preference to some louder or stronger sounds .. it's a bit quirky, but I learned to play with it as a sort of modulation effect. Yeah it's from the master I/O module. It also happens if I use the 4 I/O as well though. I swapped the patch cables as well as the minijack cables but it still continues to happen. I'm wondering if it's some sort of issue with the power supply? I have no idea
Awesome, thanks for the link. I feel like I was getting a mixed signal when using the WASP filter outputs for high and low pass but I'll double check that when I get home to make sure I'm not wrong on that

So it seems that the wasp filter simply outputs all channels added regardless of what ins and outs I put in. If I put one in the IN H and one in the IN L, the low pass and high pass outs contains both signals. Is this expected behavior? I figured each would be routed accordingly but maybe not?

OK, so the IN H and IN L on the Wasp filter do not correspond at all to the filter output types! I just now saw that this was a mistake on the wiki documentation page! I have now corrected it. wiki.aemodular.com/pmwiki.php/AeManual/FILTERWASPBasically the IN H and In L work just like on the SV Filter in that the main audio signal goes into H and you can add another audio signal in the IN L port which will be mixed at a lower level with the main signal before going through the filter. I'm not sure what the audio drops mean. Are you on mains power? Could you send a video of it happening? |

Oh sweet, that's good I thought maybe mine was glitched haha. Thanks for the response  The next time it happens I'll snag a video of it, it's definitely a weird one. Haven't had it happen since I've gotten home, had it a lot yesterday though. Have a decent sounding patch that I don't wanna lose at the moment so I'm hesitant to unplug things and troubleshoot  |

Could it be a grounding issue maybe? I'm wondering if something like that could cause behavior like that with this system. I'm not sure how sensitive it is in comparison to Eurorack or more standard analog synths.

What are you connecting the AE Modular to to listen to its audio and what cable do you use exactly?

The audio drop out problem sounds just like what I have sometimes - once it was the plug on my headphones needed re-wiring as they has a loose connection, but usually it was using the original patch wires for the AE - they are smaller plugs and will move around in the socket - the new leads are a 1000% better, but they are what you should have.
