Inspired by a comment from keurslagerkurt on the discord server: How do you get your groove on? Did any of you guys manage to make the clock signal "swing" inside the AE system?

Yes, by using an envelope to delay the trigger, the amount of swing can de set by increasing the attack time on your ENV, which you can of course randomise with the S&H module.

And with a clock divider you can choose which steps to delay! So I guess we need to ask robertlanger for a dadsr-envelope to manage those most percussive sounds!

...some rumour from the R&D department ( ): I'm working on a master clock module currently; with exact BPM, variable divisions, presets AAAND: SWING! Most likely I will show the prototype at the Superbooth in Berlin.

( ) I really wanted to be able to go to the first post-corona Superbooth to meet some AE enthousiasts in real life, but sadly its while I'm on holiday in Italy (first holiday in two years, so will be great as well ). But hope to catch some of you on another booth in the hopefully-near future!

That's an instant buy for me! Ideally it will have many buffered outputs for my sequencer spaghetti! 8)

I'd love to head over but with potential restrictions/quarantine it's just not viable for me this year unfortunately :-( Hope to meet some of you maybe next year!

Another way to swing is run your clock to the LFO sync < LFO pulse width out to whatever you're trying to swing. Use the LFO pulse width as modulation depth for how much swing you want. This is also a good was to turn a beat divider into a beat multiplier.

I've been trying to figure out for the last few days how to multi-track record on my computer without going too crazy and this should help tremendously!

I have successfully synced/recorded my AE via the midi clock to my multitrack recorder (not a PC), the only issue is the start/stop but the style I'm doing with the AE you can just fade it in/out....

Instant buy too, the biggest headache I have with my rack right now is simple start/stop and basic clocking.

If you have a 3VCswitch you can hook up one switch between clock and sequencers (so clock -> switch -> mults -> sequencer clock inputs) and use the latching switch for start/stop.
You can also run 5V into a second switch and run that into the reset inputs on your sequencers. So 5V -> switch -> mults -> sequencer reset inputs. Then you can use the momentary button to reset them.
If you saw my thread elsewhere, if you have a lot of sequencers you should probably get a buffered mult module for the clock pulses or the voltage drop will mean different sequencers randomly lose pulses and get out of sync.

solipsistnation great tip! thankyou. I don't have the 3vcswitch yet but I will try this on the 4buffer maybe that could work too.

This is exactly what I was thinking of the other day, once my matrix switch module arrived I can build patches that respond to start stop, but the 3VC switch is of course as capable of doing just that.

Hope you don't mind; it's such a great tip I've pinched this for the new page in the Wiki wiki.aemodular.com/pmwiki.php/AeManual/HintsandtipsMessing with the sustain level (ADSR module) and release time does fun stuff too, yet more hours lost in wanderings,
