Hello everyone, I'm planning to go to Superbooth next year and I have a feeling that a few of you are also making plans now that the world is slowly opening up again. It would be so cool to meet you there and I was wondering whether there is an interest in having a more organised meetup with demos, workshop and jamming? I would be happy to organise this as I have contacts in Berlin. Please let me know: - Whether you plan of coming to Superbooth 2022?
- Would like to participate in an AE Meetup?
- What you would like to do, eg. jamming, performing, workshops, talks or just hanging out?
There would be a few different options for organising a room or hall for this meeting and as those all have a cost, it would be good to get a feel for numbers. I'm looking forward to your feedback! Cheers, Carsten.

I can't commit 100% just yet because of restrictions and so on, but myself and the girlfriend are seriously considering trying to head over to Berlin for it! Might just be a great excuse for our first post-COVID trip abroad 😅
If we're there, I'm 100% up for a meet! Would be great to meet some of you fellow mad scientists in person 👨🔬
EDIT: Sorry, didn't read the suggestions bit! Frankly, I'm pretty easy, I'm happy with whatever. Jams and demos would be cool, but I'd also like to just grab a beer and talk with you fine folks, which may be easier!
The only issue I can think with jams is that I won't be able to bring any gear, and I imagine many others are the same. It might be a little stifling to solely rely on others' equipment!

I would definitely be interested. It's been a while I've been in Berlin. I'm definitely interested in jamming/workshops and general nerding out over modular synthesis.

Will definitely be great to meet up — cannot commit 100% right now, but yes! in principle (Because I just had to look it up: "Superbooth 2022 will be held at the FEZ in Berlin, Germany, on the 12-14 May 2022")

I certainly agree in principle, happy just to be a meet up, to put faces to names, Berlin is a city I've wanted to go to for years, this may be the excuse I need to convince the Mrs....

I'd love to be there! However, I can't be 100% sure yet if it will fit my work scheme.. as i'm a teacher, it's not easy to fix a holiday in may. But it might be possible, I just won't know for sure before februari.
I'd love to do some hanging out mainly, but it'd be cool to do some jamming and maybe some short performances by ppl of the community? Hoping for at least a performance by Robert! 😃 If I can come, i'll certainly bring my small battery powered row with me 😊

That would be awesome to hang out and meet you guys/gals. Unfortunately not possible. Opportunity for another time and I'm sure there will be lots of insta/forum posts to wet the pallet.

That's would be totally great! However, like many I cannot commit 100% yet. But as I'd need to book flights tickets I could give final answer like 6 months before this...
Sounds really nice 👍

The price of hotels in Berlin is quite something..... Shouldn't be surprised as is a major city. Getting there is fine from UK, can even do the train! I am hoping some city break package deals come up as otherwise this trip will be out of my price range...

Hello folks, I'm planning on being at Superbooth this year. I'm really looking forward to coming to the Tangible Waves stand and hopefully meeting folks and trying out a few modules (yes, I'm bringing a more or less empty suitcase with me!)...
In response to Carsten's ( admin) original message:
Whether you plan of coming to Superbooth 2022? yes Would like to participate in an AE Meetup? yes What you would like to do, eg. jamming, performing, workshops, talks or just hanging out? yes! (all of those )...
I'm going to be coming to Berlin on my own so it would be lovely to meetup on the Thursday if that's possible. Then we'd have contacts to meet up with on and off throughout the event.
I won't be bringing any AEModular I don't think, I'm coming from the UK and I want the luggage space to return with a few things. But I would like to jam and could bring my Bastl kastl and a few other tiny things.
It's only a few months away now so do others have firmed up plans to go now too?
( pol, I've bagged a nearby air b&b for £35 a night - would be cheaper than you looking for a hotel deal).

As it's only a few months away now, is there a show of hands of anyone going who would like to meetup? Hi, I've just booked my flight to Berlin and will definitely be at Superbooth at the tangible waves stand. Just in regards to your mentioning "I bring an empty suitcase" ... You won't be able to actually buy any modules at Superbooth. This is an expo only and more for seeing what's new, meeting lots of like minded people, experiencing awesome musicians and having fun. Anyway, hope to see many of you there!

Thanks for info, but I won't do Air B&B. The Mrs and I are still disussing.....

I'm looking at getting hotel tickets booked this evening! We're leaving on Saturday (I think) so I'll likely be there by myself either the Thursday or Friday?
Would love to meet up with fellow AE folks - and if anyone has any travel tips for Berlin/Germany I'd be very grateful! Danke 😉

I'm looking at flights/hotel just at the moment. Currently I'm looking at 11-16th May, probably flying from Manchester (as it's direct, and not so hard to get to from York). Wondering about which area of the city to aim at (of course German public transport in the large cities always seems to be great, so I don't have any particular worries about getting around!).
I wouldn't be bringing any music-making stuff with me (except probably phone/laptop), and would be interested in hanging out and getting inspired; and of course putting names to faces!

In order to make this "easier" I actually went to a Flightcentre office and asked a real person to book it for me. Then I had to correct the first schedule, then I had to correct the second schedule, then I picked him up on double charging me for one of the flights and then after I paid and received the insurance papers, I had to call him because the dates on the insurance were incorrect. All in all, much better then having to go through it all on my own, but still frustrating due to the sheer incompetence of the guy. Anyway ... my flights are booked and unless WWIII breaks out, I'll be there.

Flights and hotel booked!
... staying in Mitte (AlexanderPlatz) so nice and central - easy access to the S-Bahn for the airport (S9) and FEZ (S3)

I'm coming with the train from Brussels, probably leaving thursday (12/05) morning, arriving in Berlin around noon. I think I'll plan on doing Superbooth a whole day on friday, and then saturday morning around 6am I'm leaving back for Belgium. Train is suprisingly affordable (seems to be around €60 for out & return together!). I'll probably be travelling on my own, so if anyone wants to have a drink or meet up, I'll def be down Now to search for a cheap & okay place to stay.. As I'm pretty close to broke right now

I'm arriving on the 11th, with a 3-day ticket to SuperBooth -- and I'm flying back on the 16th so I can have a tourist day I would hope that we can manage a beer or two

Aaaahhh, this seems fun. Plane tickets from the US are pretty pricy though... Ugh. I wanna go anyways.
