I am still just learning about electonic circuits, so I hope this is not a weird question:
I have a qustion about a nice feature in some modules, and hope that someone knows the answer.
I was 'a little surprised'by some modules because the signal flow can be redirected. Like de 3VCSwitch and the I/O connectors (Master and 4IO).
I was wondering how far this can go.
lets say we have 4 sockets.
lets assume the first is always an input, and the last one is always an output, but is it possible to make the 2 others flexible, that is you connect a source to the second the system recognizes this and transform the module to a 1 - 3 (buffered mult, 2 unity mix - 2 (buffered) out , 3 - 1 unity mix (or a dual 1 -1 (buffered) tru) on the fly. (and without the use of manual switches). If you do this, is there still enough protection for the circuitry on the module and to the connected modules.
Does someone know how this works, maybe in an electric circuit drawing ?
And could this be scaled to lets say 12 or more inputs/outputs. Assuming that inputs will always be mixed / multed 'down' the list of inputs/outputs, never up.
it could make patches very flexible..
