Hey all,
Just a quick question regarding a DIY module I'm working on. So I have pots, switches, etc all hooked up and functioning to the IC I'm using. Now the next step is how do I modulate the current level of each pots with the external input? I was thinking of just summing the input + signal after the pot, but I was curious if this is the best way to approach modulation. I've been searching google and DIY forums for how to go about making a circuit that will modulate the signal but can't seem to find anything. Maybe it's more simple than I think, but any advice, reading, video suggestions would be awesome. I've been learning mostly from example circuits so apologies as my electrical knowledge is limited.

Can you upload a diagram of the circuit? Then maybe the more electronically literate of us can help you figure it out. I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous, so others' advice might be better.

Do I assume right that your pot is a voltage divider, providing 0-5 volts, and now you want to add an external voltage? In this case a OpAmp adder is what you need. I can supply a schematic; just tell us if my assumptions are correct ;-)

Hey, despairbear That's just what my mind is occupied with right now) I have a bunch of DIY modules based on Electric Druid PICs. In most of them I just soldered a cable from the additional external CV input to the CV pots' middle leg directly and pulled it down to ground with 100k resistor. Everything works fine, though I'm not confident at all this is the correct way of adding the external CV input. So, I would also be glad to have any hints and suggestions here)
