First sequence with my new Ae Modular system. Elektron Octatrack at the helm running some samples and being the master. Super powerful setup, im very excited to see where this will lead... Octa is sequencing the rack on two different midi channels and running samples on 4 audio tracks with the rack returning external audio back into the octatrack on thru and neighbour machines for effects. No resamplig yet buy sooooooon!!! soundcloud.com/the-dub-doctor/modular-take-1

Really loving this setup. The Octatrack is running as master and sequencing into Aemodular Aemodular returning back into Octatrack for processing, resampling and live looping. Its starting to prove a very vicious circle indeed. The potential here is massive!!
I have a question though that someone may be able to help me with. Concerning the bus CV and Gate signals carried by the ribbon This is always reading channel 1, with the exception of omni ( all channels at the same time ) And the other options with 14, 15 etc
Is it possible to have seperate channels of cv and gate running in the rack For example... Midi channel one to an osc playing a bass line Midi channel two to a different Osc playing a lead line Midi channel three tothird seperate osc 3 playing a pad etc etc
My Octatrack offers 8 seperate channels with this info How to access that facilty inside the rack? Extra ribbon??

Extra ribbon?? The MASTER I/O modular only does CV, Gate and CC20 for one voice. For more, you'd need a separate, external MIDI-CV converter. I like to use the CV.OCD for this purpose: six4pix.net/product/cvocd/EDIT to further elaborate:The CV.OCD offers 4x CV and 12x Gate/Trigger outputs and DIN and USB MIDI input. So you could sequence four voices via CV + Gate and eight drums via gates/triggers. Of course you would have to convert the 3.5mm jacks to the AE Modular patch wires via the MASTER I/O module and several 4I/O modules ;-)

Yeah i was really hoping not to have to go the external route. It seems like a bad idea given the size a delicate nature of the AE rack format. Might have a look on github for something that could work as a module in format. Id imagine a lot of folks would probably like an extra box of control
