Robert just showed these photos of the new knobs on Instagram. These are his own creation which he is getting especially made for the AE system and they will simply fit over the normal knobs. http://instagram.com/p/CH7jRqWBnlp

I would love to read something more about this mixer - like: where are the outputs?

I would love to read something more about this mixer - like: where are the outputs? What you see in the image is just the mixer extension module. The main unit will have 4 channels with CV controlled amplitude, stereo panning and 2x AUX/FX sends per channel. That main module will have 3.5mm jacks for FX send/return and main outputs. You can extend the mixer with these extension modules to as many channels as you want. Apparently there will be a cable for this at the back. Another extension module will provide 1/4'' jacks for send/return and main output. There was a Facebook post about this:

If they want my data, they can PAY ME for it!
Anyway, as far as the new knobs...the other neat thing here is that you don't have to put them on EVERY control. By sticking 'em on things like VCF Cutoffs and other prompt-tweaking controls, we can make our rigs even more customized and user-specific, with this change being a boost for the live gigging users here. More nifty AE serendipity!

I love that idea of making the more often used controls more prominent with these knobs

Are the new knobs glued on top of the "old" or can they easily be lifted off? Anyone with experience getting back the old knobs? Cheers

I had to remove a couple when I decided I want my system to have black panels, and it wasn't very easy to remove the new knobs. That said, they are removable no problem.

What was your trick to remove them? I have tried but with no results as I don't want to apply too much force.

They will actually come out with a reasonable amount of force, they're just too slippery to remove with your fingers. You might damage the knob itself a bit, though.

I removed the first knob, only to discover the smaller knobs have no white markings showing the position of the knob, so I put new knob back where it was. Thankfuly it was much easier then pulling it down. So to all who want to follow my footsteps - be warned

arti I just used a flat screwdriver and took my time, gently... I am waiting for a batch of colored ones, then once I am done with my color scheme I will never ever remove a knob again

Might work without too much of a trouble.

Might work without too much of a trouble. I thought about it - 1. some very small brush would be needed (obtaining it shoudn't be a problem, but I don't have one at the moment) and some precision work on many small elements 2. I was worried about paint being less permanent than plastic markers used on regular knobs Being a rather lazy person I've so far deceided to give it a try with the new knobs. They sometimes seem a bit slippery and in vertical position of the rack the knobs overshadow the text below, also with the dense areas of the module there seems to be a not enough space to grab the exact knob with precision and speed needed for performance:P but maybe I just need some more time to get use to them. If the difference still will be distinct I'll remove the new ones and paint the old ones with a marker or paint as moruial suggests. Maybe it would be more convinient for robertlanger and the crew to just send new knobs unmounted (less work for them )as a choice while leaving the old ones with the regular white markers.
