Rearranged my AE Modular cases today, filling the bottom row with modules I need to touch frequently (DIY touch sensor module, sequencer, mixers, filters). Here’s an ambient music jam with it:
I’m controlling the master filter cutoff, two voices and the sample & hold sound effect with the four force sensing resistors (FSR) and noise with the light dependent resistor (LDR). Another voice is slowly sequenced and yet another crackly effect sound from the Grand Square DIY module is simply faded in and out using a mixer. Of course, I’m also using all of the effects in the rack, with the MULTIFX’ shimmer reverb on the final mix output.

Nice! Rearranging the modules this way is a good idea, I should do that, too!

Great sound! Rearranging my modules was already on the short list, but that task may have just been bumped to the top. Putting the most often touched/manipulated modules in the bottom row is a great idea and good tip to keep in mind!

Thank you! I always put off rearranging my modules, but with an electric screwdriver, set to soft and slow, it’s actually doable very quickly.

Thank you! I always put off rearranging my modules, but with an electric screwdriver, set to soft and slow, it’s actually doable very quickly. One of the numerous great things about the AE Modular. I just had to rearrange mine as I had several new modules arrive; I did each module as a 1cm wide strip of paper (and wrote the names on), 2cm for the 2 unit ones (Master and Nyle Filter I think) and 4 cm for the 4 unit one (SEQ16); then stuck them to a larger piece of paper with masking tape so they were easy to move around - when I got to 16cm wide that was a full row.... worked really well so kept for planning future expansion!
