Hello, everybody. Hope you are all keeping safe and healthy!
My name is David, just signed up to the forum and am based in Antigua Guatemala, Central America.
Earlier this year I reached out to Robert to show my interest in getting started in the world of modular synthesizers and after getting his advice, he was able to put together my first system ever. Most of my life I've have been involved in the punk rock music scene, performing with bands as an underground musician, playing mostly guitar and drums. Inspired by a series of Minimal Synth parties and buying records from several artists, I got very interested in exploring this world.
After the guidance of a good friend in Mexico City who uses Eurorack and lots of hours of investigating by myself, I was able to put together my solo project called Nublo Roboten and today two demo songs were released. Attached you will find a photo of the patching that was used to record the music. Every track was recorded separately and mostly used AE Modular where I created the drums, base lines and sound effects, in addition, a Behringer MS-101 was used for background sounds and made use of the delay in the mixer to give it a "strings" sort of sound and also used a Korg Volca Keys just to sync both synths and keep them in the same tempo. Also need to point out that I didn't use any controllers when using the AE Modular system. The voices were recorded using a Shure SM58; edited and mixed everything using Audacity and used this website called eMastered to give the final product a mastered sound.
So, the result of this adventure is now on Bandcamp and I also created an Instagram account if you guys want to follow or just check it out. Hope you like what I've created and needless to say, I still only know the very basics of modular synthesis. Looking forward to never end my learning and make my system more complete. Feel free to contact me to give me any advice and observations or if you want to know more details about my experience, I will be happy to chat
Big thanks to Robert for always being so nice, helpful and for supplying such amazing products. I feel very honoured and humbled!
