I would like to have more midi inputs for several other channels and velocity would also be great e.g. for tiggering filters. The specification provides a galvanic isolation. Optocoupler would probably be appropriate here 
I do not want to buy now 3 times the master module and run empty (I prefer to buy other modules!). Does anyone have a solution for Arduino (or atmel) or already a idea, I would participate in the development.
