Alright, I'm making a thread for my stuff as well now, instead of posting individual ones Here are my previous jams: instagram.com/p/BkQH89EA60c/http://instagr.am/p/BkQH89EA60c Instagram Link
This was one of my first AE Modular patches. There are three voices, which are simply VCO through VCA and/or FILTER, controlled by an ENV. The voices: - a SEQ16 melody - two notes going back and forth, played by the DIVIDER’s /32 output going through an attenuator for tuning - a hat-like, percussive NOISE sound triggered by the DIVIDER LFO 1 is the master clock and also modulates the NOISE sound. LFOs 2 (slow) and 3 (fast) modulate the two filters. It’s a very simple patch. I like to use clock divider outputs through mixers/attenuators to play some basic synced and slower melody CV. You can add logic for rhythmic pitch changes and quick envelopes for pitch bends too. Here's a dirty jam session with my AE Modular and the new MULTIFX module's Ring Crush Reverb. There's also an unreleased module in there, which I hope will be announced soon, after Robert is back from vacation I played a down-tempo, improvised live show together with Strategic Tape Reserve’s VLK last weekend, at the Bend Make Change Festival and brought my AE Modular as well. It’s a bit hard to hear it, because of the various stuff that’s going on, but it is technically an AE Modular performance My AEM travel case: And my latest DIY module: I also brought three Axoloti synths with USB MIDI controllers and my Linnstrument and VLK played his Eurorack, Digitakt and an Axoloti noise synth as well Rearranged my AE Modular cases today, filling the bottom row with modules I need to touch frequently (DIY touch sensor module, sequencer, mixers, filters). Here’s an ambient music jam with it: I’m controlling the master filter cutoff, two voices and the sample & hold sound effect with the four force sensing resistors (FSR) and noise with the light dependent resistor (LDR). Another voice is slowly sequenced and yet another crackly effect sound from the Grand Square DIY module is simply faded in and out using a mixer. Of course, I’m also using all of the effects in the rack, with the MULTIFX’ shimmer reverb on the final mix output.

New calm jam session! Multi-tracking one pass of noodling with the AE Modular itself and two tracks of playing the AEM with the Arturia KeyStep:

Playing some techno this time with all three filters, the lowpass gate and the LepLoop Arpopone

Recorded a jam with VLK last night. I plugged his Eurorack clock into my AE Modular and we improvised together. You can hear the AE MultiFX Reverb and Spring Reverb quite well. The plucky, percussive sequence is the LOPAG Lowpass Gate and there is also a squelchy bass and pingy sounds (at the very end) which are from the AEM as well.

This is a performance in which I use two CV & Gate sequencers. One is the SEQ16, playing a slower melody, and the other one is a prototype of a voltage-controlled algorithmically sequenced dual octo switch (VCASDOS ) I’m building at the moment. Of course there is also the MultiFX in there, all three filters and the LOPAG

Of course there is also the MultiFX in there, all three filters and the LOPAG [...] Nice, I enjoyed that. Your choice of module may mean that I will need to re-think my intended challenge for next week The DIY project sounds very interesting as well.
This afternoon, I was also playing with the SEQ16, mainly to see if I could get a sequence to ratchet and I managed it. Something was going out of time as I was modulating the filter and the PW of the oscillator, so it wasn't a total success. However, I did work out that sending the SEQ16 Gate output to GT1 input of an ENV and the SEQ16 Accent output (with appropriate repeats set) to the GT2 input seemed to give the triggering that I wanted to the VCA, with the CV output of the SEQ16 driving a VCO through a Wasp Filter to the VCA. There may be other (and better) ways of doing this, so I will continue to play.
It was the various modulations of the OSC PW and the Filter Freq that caused the oddness... and maybe the fact that I was trying 5- and 6-beat sequences.
Now I need to improve the smoothness of the whole thing and I am pleased that I have got somewhere using just the AE Modular - OK, with an external phaser and reverb, and sometimes delay when I couldn't quite the DELAY module where I wanted it.

Cool! How did you achieve the ratcheting? I must remind myself to try that out as well and also do more with non-8-step sequence lengths!

"voltage-controlled algorithmically sequenced dual octo switch" best name for a modular ever look forward to hearing more about it!

As discussed in the small studio thread, I wanted to finally spend some time with that cheap, secondhand Electribe 2 Sampler I scored half a year ago. Of course I removed all stock sounds and sequences immediately when I had time today and loaded some AE Modular samples onto it. I then created some patterns and connected it to the AE Modular rack via its handy analog sync output (just like there is on the Korg Volcas). I've been watching some 303 Acid performances this morning, so my first jam is an attempt at producing Acid as well youtube.com/watch?v=Vy42pA5c2a4

Still in my Acid phase over here Synced the AE Modular to the analog clock output of the Cyclone Analogic TT-303 mkII. Very simple patch with just two voices playing their sequences.

Here's my first jam session with my upgraded AE Modular synth Moved all modules into two 20U wide cases and added the ALGODRONE, SOLINA, MMDIVIDER and some other modules. Patch notes from the YouTube video description: The ALGODRONE's preset 55 is running very slow and its loop trigger output is used as master clock, feeding into the MMDIVIDER. From there several envelopes are triggered, modulating individual filter cutoff frequencies for four voices (ALGODRONE, SOLINA and two VCOs). I'm using all the available AE Modualr filters: NYLE, WASP, SVFILTER and the new MS-20 filter.
For CV generation and processing I'm mixing two triangle wave LFOs, an offset voltage and the ALGODRONE's output with a prototype of an upcoming polarizing CV mixer module. This one feeds into another prototype of a dual offset/attenuverter for further tweaking. From there the CVs go into two S&Hs and from there those CVs, as well as a direct outputs of the aforementioned modules are spread across the patch to modulate SOLINA chord variantion, ALGODRONE parameters, etc.
It's all very chaotic and slow and I really just tweak the "POLARMIX" CV mixer, the "CV TOOLS" dual offset/attenuverter and the master audio mixer knobs.

That's really very nice and great use of CV modulation and mixing to achieve the slowly mutating chaos. I especially liked that bass sound ... was that coming through the MS20 or the NYLE?

The bass is the ALGODRONE through the MS-20 Filter, modulated by the CV mix, which includes the ALGORDONE’s signal as well.

Heavenly!
I suspect that the Algodrone is going to be my main clock source system-wide.

Had a tiny little bit of time for a jam just now SOLINA going through three different filters, being modulated by different sources (LFOs, ENVs, S&H Algodrone, etc.) with lots of delay form the Lo-Fi DELAY module and Bastl THYME. Using my 3-Bit Binary Switching module to change chords on the Solina slowly, with my three clock divider modules generating the necessary gates.

I so need Solina. Awesome little generative type patch/ demo of the module!

Let's take the drones up a notch! All the cool new (for me at least) modules DRONE38, DRONX, TRIP, RBSS, MIXCONSOLE, QUANTIZER, WAVETABLES, etc. in a massive, stereophonic wall of sound Conclusion:The expanded MIXCONSOLE is the bomb! I've ever had so much fun with a modular synth mixer ... well, I've never had a performance mixer at all. Because the MIXCONSOLE is stereo and has send/return slots, it makes putting together the usual modular synth voice sub-patches so much easier and better sounding. Also, the CV inputs for each channel's VCA are super handy to save the typical VCA module before the mixer inputs.
