Hi all! While i'm rolling into pcb design, right now I'm trying to make a 'soft tape saturation' effect module for a friends studio. I'm converting this circuit to PCB, which is meant to render a 'tapelike' soft saturation and limiting sound via the use of soft diode clipping. (Cant seem to paste An image straight from my phone). It's all here on this web Page and it's a really simple circuit: zadvitsky.com/index.php/studio-devices/tape-saturation-compressor.htmlI was wondering whether this might be a useful circuit to try and adapt for AE? Might be cool to have some final 'coloring' stage right before outputting it all, and also while limiting the sometimes more extreme volume spikes. As far as I can see, the circuit would work with MCP's and some altered resistances, but I'm not sure about diodes? Would i need to search for diodes with a smaller voltage drop? And would i have to link the clipping diodes to 2.5V instead of Gnd? All help is welcome!
