Hello there. I have put together my first system using the "design your modular" tool from the website. Now I want to put everything in the shopping cart. In my list for the complete system is: 1x aemodular case 2 row 12x2 NARROW 2x aemodular bus cable NARROW 1x Power Supply Adapter 9V 1,3A 1x Master I/O Module ...and enough modules to fill the blank spaces Do I have everything I need for a complete system? I have read the unit can be delivered pre-built. How is this working? Do I send an email after placing the order? Last Thing: How are the delivery times at the moment? Still approx 3 months? Really looking forward to my first true modular synth.

So you used the modulargrid page to design it? You're correct about the base stuff you need-- case, bus cables, master module, power supply.
We'd need to know what modules you've picked in order to give you much advice... In general though, the starter racks are a pretty good base for building. They have enough stuff in them that you can do quite a bit right out of the box.
I believe you can leave a note when you order and they'll assemble it for you. There should be a spot on the ordering page.
What modules are you thinking of ordering? Don't forget you'll need patchwires too!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the modular grid. I dropped the name while writing the thread somehow. I totally agree about the starter racks, they are great for starting out. In my case it will be a dedicated Drone Unit (Drone38, DronX, MultiFx, Phaser LFOs yadayada) so a good chunk of the starter rack modules would end up unused. This is why I am starting from scratch. Yes the patch cables...good point. Having lots of modulation sources in my system you think one starter set is enough?

You can never have too many patch wires especially if you think about modulation. I find that I'm using the grey and red ones most, the blue ones only when I run out of grey ones and the green and yellow ones only for those few connections where modules are either very close together or very far apart. So I would suggest to get the starter wire pack and one additional pack of red and grey ones. Also if you want to use MIDI you need to buy the MIDI adapter as well, as it's not included with the master module. www.tangiblewaves.com/store/p28/MIDI_Breakout_Cable.htmlGood luck with it, it will take 3 months for you system to be delivered, but once you got it, please post your music here, I'm very interested to hear what you will come up with!

Yeah, if you're doing drones, that sounds like a pretty great place to start. You'll have some spare inputs on the DRONX mixer too, so maybe another oscillator of some sort-- a 2osc/d or something you can layer over the drones? Or even a Solina? But yep, sounds like you have a decent drone setup in mind.

Good advice regarding the cables. Thanks. Solina is on my wishlist if i decide to tack on a second system in the future. For now my Wavestate should do the job for background pads. Thanks everyone for the good tips. I think I have everything together to place my order.

Sounds like a great drone rack!
Interested in what you'll make with it 😄
