First time in ages I've managed to do some AE recording and it was much needed! I felt a little inspired after adding a new 2ENV to my case which actually brought with it a lot more freedom than I initially thought - it allowed for a lot more control and blend of voices, especially combined with filtering and that handy 4ATT fader for mixing. Everything is from the AE except reverb which is a Yamaha REV500  |

May I ask how you've connected the Akai keyboard? AFAIK it's only USB isn't it?

I'm using Reaper as a go-between - it clocks the MPK, and then the MPKs arpeggiator is passed through and onto the AE This way, I set my project tempo in Reaper and then simply play / record and everything is then in sync. I've worked on a few ideas like this and it's a real pleasure to perform in this way! I think if I didn't have Reaper in-between you'd have to use a USB MIDI/CV interface to do the same thing but I don't have one handy. |
