Some excellent textures, liked the smooth distortion.

thanks! this is a one-take recording of a jam, straight from the main mixer.
here i control the AEsystem and a Volca Kick via my Electribe 2 Sampler. Volca Kick audio go thru IO4 and 2SignalAmp modules then mix with a VCO -> filters sequenced by E2S, into a stereo signal, then go thru a reverb pedal and to the main mixer. All the other sounds are from the E2S. then i turn on-off parts like there's no tomorrow.

nice , I particularly like the heavier part at the end by the way you can embed soundcloud tracks , using the little speaker icon of the editor e.g.

I like this, keep posting, huynguyen , it will certainly hone your experiments with this great synth, and the feedback here is both useful and well-delivered. I must admit that I wondered how people were embedding items, it wasn't obvious - it took me a while and some experimenting with the buttons and I did have to quickly edit at least one post whilst I was working it out
As an aside, it's an interesting point as to whether we should add effects when showing off the modular here. I always favour hearing the sound sweetened a bit with effects, but of course then you don't hear just the synth, rather an interaction of the synth with whatever processing you have available, which is different for everyone. That becomes doubly interesting when using the modular as an effects processor (this week's challenge), as should you then record both with and without the processing to show the effect...?
Just thinking out loud. As I said, I would always add effects as that's a crucial part of the sound design for me - and, of course, it could be coming from the AE modules anyway
I look forward to your next post.

I guess depends on your purpose... If your reviewing a synth, or making a tutorial... then your listeners want to hear the raw thing (and perhaps with effects after) but otherwise, as you says it is part of the sound design, and I don't view my AE rack in isolation, rather as part of my setup - so Im happy to use hardware and/or software effects to 'sweeten' it. challenges, yeah interesting, I had this 'dilemma' last week, initially I had something quite raw, then I decided to expand on it... i also initially "hid" it on Vimeo (which i don't use much) , as wasn't sure of its general appeal, I then changed my mind, figuring , my youtube subscribers might be interested (I don't have that many) , and it all helps to promote AE a bit, but I don't want completely 'raw' sounds on my youtube channel, as they are probably not that 'interesting' if your not directly into AEM and the challenges. (also hopefully it gives those new to AEM a better feel for the AE rack 'in context' when effects are used) of course, this is just my reasoning for my purposes... (and apologies in advance if anyone thinks I'm cheating or not posting in the spirit of the challenges - thats valid too ) but honestly, if one week, Im short of time - I may well put up a raw sound clip on a server somewhere, and post here, thats cool too in my mind. so no right or wrongs, I think most of us here on this forum enjoy both raw and processed clips - all good.

happy lunar year everyone here in SEA we're busy with graveyards and family party business but in a high evening i was up and jamming again. this track i let AEsystem act hero, actually it was an AE jam and then i decided to add a simple beat in with my E2S. here you can see in the middle of the jam i started to go crazy and live patched all over the place haha. love the sounds of VCO and 2OSC. quite quirky
