Hello, In few month I should need a convertor/scaler to get the Ae 0-5v cv and/or audio into +-1V to be able to control the LZX Chromagnon. Kinda wondering if it would be possible with the diy module inboard the Ae system? I guess negative voltage isn't recommended nor possible but if not, why not?

Negative voltages might hurt some components, therefore we should avoid it in the AE world. Although, the LZX stuff is super interesting, great to hear you are working on it; a line of analog video modules for AE is a "secret dream" for me since the beginning. Maybe we can modify the LZX circuits to work in the 0...5 volts range? If you want to scale the signal, ,out have to add a DC converter to get a negative supply voltage of e.g. -5V, then, with a usual opamp circuit it can be scaled to this range (divide by 2.5 and shift by -1 volts.

Addition: It would comply with the AE "design rules" to have the -1/+1V signals on a Minijack socket; because every Minijack input on the AE modules has a protection circuit. For further details just PM me, preferably by email.

Thanks for the reply. Will definitely be looking into this. As for the Ae video module that would be amazing! There some interesting Raspberry pi based video synth which have pop up last few years. Was thinking later on as well to get an Hypno which requires 5v usb power but -5 to +5v CV. I'd guess it would be possible to change the codes to only consider 0 to 5v. sleepycircuits.com/hypno

Have always wondered how to include raspberry pi into a setup and a video synth would be awesome. Cheers for the dream.
