HI ALL! I managed to squeeze in a ton of PCB orders before I depart on a two week holiday. In production at JLCPCB are now: - Five Steps (I DO believe this will finally be the end product) - A single Sloth prototype (slow chaos module) - R2R inspired prototype called 'The Great Divide' (thanks to thelowerrhythm in the future wishlist thread) Hope you'll see these modules in action SOON!!

Wow, I'm so impressed and happy to see that you are coming back with more ideas and modules! Please consider me as a beta-tester

I welded my Biot upside down and I'm too afraid doing stupidity with the quad boost. So it's waiting on the side since month... But gonna get them all. As a tester if they survive my skills it's π. π

wait!! so this time it arrived without being sent back home? but you got the springy upside down!! jeez that βluckyβlutte name doesnβt quite fit ;-) ,,, get in touch,, i presume you can unsolder the 8pin from the board successfully so you just need another springy sent? i was meaning to ask if you got it this time..

Damn, that's a bummer, but should be fixable with a desolder pen/sucker thingy (you can get one for like β¬8 if you don't have one yet). The quad boost is a bit 'thight', meaning the components are pretty close together, but all still very do-able. Nothing too crazy! All other beginner solderers have succeeded as of yet π just take it chill and easy, with the guide and enough time. Also, if you have questions, if you're stuck, or if the module doesn't work as expected, i'm very happy to help! You can always send me pictures/questions to check if anything is off, or if all soldering is good.

basically start with the resistors, once those are in solder the capacitors, then the transistors and then you solder the headers and the 6 pin connector. Just take your time to double check that you put the components in their right spot and in the right orientation Q3 is to be put in backwards.

Bad luck, I did precisely this as well! I was able to desolder and remove the spring connector but the component was damaged in the process. If that happens to you as well, get in touch with John Wonkystuff, he can give you the part number and may have some spare spring connectors still on hand: he sold me one at cost price which was very helpful!

I have been able to disolder it. But the springs are stuck and don't get back down. After welding it back it kinda has a belly. Doesn't see much problem when in place in the rack only the female connector are kinda under the front panel. I was waiting for the second Biot to arrive to get it right so I'll get confident to do the quadboost. But first time it was sent back to UK because no one came to pick it up, because the post never told me it was there. Now it has been sent again a month ago but I'm still waiting for it... I guess Biot is just not for me π
.
Anyway, the 5 CV is on my list and certainly the other ones.
