For developing or also if you want to play with tbd on your computer before you decide if you want to buy the real module, you could use the simulator or the VCV Rack version of tbd. If you don't want to compile the simulator or the VCV Rack plugin yourself, you should also be able to find pre-built versions in the "release" sections on the github pages.
