I've found myself swapping and reorganizing my modules. So I thought about how I can play around with this without stripping screws. My brother-in-law made an alternative to the standard power/bus cable and I started playing around with it on my desktop. This allowed for basically hot swapping modules. Still this left my modules in piles and unorganized. So I was looking up ways that I can mount modules. I thought of magnets and in searching I found a magnet supplier who also supplied hooks that have an M3 screw thread. I had some zinc angle laying around and I discovered that its holes are 1" apart and I took a dive and bought a ton of these guys: These are little hooks that can screw into the modules. Like below: Which then can be propped up on my slatwall with the correct kind of fixture. Below you can see the power rail and some modules hooked up. So the other modules? How can they be organized? I bought some more zinc angle placed the angles on posts and hung them over my head. Took a little while to alphabetize the modules, but there they are! This is how I learned that I have over 10 linear feet of modules.... Attachments:

Whow what a great idea! I wish I had that kind of wall! Swapping modules in and out makes perfect sense. Not every patch needs all modules present.

First this is awesome, and Puts my shoebox to shame. Second, your magnets idea got me thinking... what if we replace screws with magnets?? I have a ton of mini magnets maybe I’ll try with one of my homemade micro cases

Also that power situation is epic. I mean with that I wouldn’t even need magnets. How do I get one? 😄

This is such a cool idea. I didn't know I needed this until now....

A bunch of magnets will become quite expensive quickly I think. A cheaper solution would be to screw a magnet friendly metal to the back and get a bar magnet across the case.
Though for desktop usage, the electron buddy(tm) power rail does a decent job aligning modules without any case at all. The problem I've found is that my haphazard and spikey soldering technique makes for a prickly backside. I placed strategic furniture pad stickers to try to help with that though.
