Just found this nice project, which could be adapted easy for AE modular: github.com/todbot/picostepseqCurious to hear if somebody in the AE community will make it :-)

In a similar vein, has anyone built this kit and used it with the AE?

Ooohh, I might. If so, I'll let you know how it goes.

In a similar vein, has anyone built this kit and used it with the AE? This just sends CV and Gate ... should work well with the AE when connected to the Master or 4I/O modules.

Yeah, I don't actually have those modules. Got one spare I/O channel on my POWER, so, uh, it might be CV *or* Gate. And no clock sync.
Actually, I think the actual way to do it is that you can buy the Rakit Baby8 with headers for sharing power, CV, and gate to/from their APC kit. But the headers look AE compatible, and I think the signals should be too. Which means I can possibly power it from my AE system, and connect it all up with the usual AE pin headers... except I didn't buy it with them, it's an optional extra.
Ah well, I might see about sourcing headers myself and then giving it a go.
