Just what I did today with the AE, a turntable and akai force... I am not the best in track arrangement or general... No mastering... Just a jam.

Sounds like fun! Could you give us some more details on this track? Like what did you use for sequencing the AE Modular and how did you integrate it into the Turntable + Force setup?

I enjoyed that, bahm , it worked well for me Jamming is always worthwhile, just remember to press record before you start. It also reminded me of something I did about 20 years ago (although yours is better) when I spent a day with my Akai S2000 sampler and some CDs - luckily (or not), I remembered to hit record I still have that sampler, although it is quite the biggest and heaviest piece of equipment I have ever owned. I mainly used it for Mellotron and String Machine samples, but on that day I went full crazy.

That is a very cool track bahm, thanks for sharing! I'm always surprised how many different genres are popping up in this forum. There's so much to learn!

Akai force midi out goes to dsi evolver (which I didn't use but anyways) then midi thru to the numark cdx (it's a shitty cd turntable with motorized platter and can pitch to midi notes which is cool). As this has no midi thru, I had to connect the AE by the forces 4 cv out. I used 1 for note sequencing, 1 for the gates (these two are just 1 sequencer line but can be individual ones too) and 1 for clock (1/64 notes are the minimum here I believe). A midi splitter would be cool as it saves all three here used cv sequencer lines. All audio comes thru a mixer back in the akai... It has just 2 audio ins which isn't the coolest thing but I am away from my pc... Except for recording the whole thing in audacity.

By checking SoundCloud, I noted that I could get a better look at your setup

Thanks.... Switched to Video instead of Audio only.... Some problem with my mixer? Sorry... And my scratching is also shitty.... But I uploaded it anyways. Baseline: Dsi Evolver Drum and Sequencing: Akai Force Vocals: Turntable Anything else: AE Modular

Shades of early Ultravox/John Foxx to my ears. The lead line was very nice. All that and a strong beer with a Viking on it. Excellent

I like the compressed heavy beats with the beaten-up sound. Again, some dirty early Ultravox in there. Good listening, thanks.

It's Sunday and I don't have to work today so I jammed again.
Does anyone know what my problem could be with the stuttering? In every video there is about one short stutter... Maybe it's just the audio, I don't really know. I use obs and tried different video codecs, use a logitech webcam and a behringer Umc audio interface. Writing 400mb in 5 minutes shouldn't be a problem. The pc is a relatively fast intel xeon 1231 with a 960 gt.

Hi bahm, I really love this last track, very dancey I also experienced the "one stutter" per video which I didn't care to follow up but just thought that it was due to my inexperience and probably subpar equipment (recording with an iPhone5). BUT I also use the UMC audio interface .. maybe there's some correlation?

Next time I try recording with video buffer, check audio buffer size and maybe after that asio4all if I d not use it already. As I only use the PC for recording, big buffers shouldn't be a problem I hope. Thanks

Hi bahm, I'm going through all your videos on YouTube in more detail now and I'm really impressed. The AE seems to fit in really well with the Akai Force. I'm also curious to know how you achieve those awesome video effects?

I'm also curious to know how you achieve those awesome video effects? Thanks for watching admin... I really love the force, but I wouldn't say ae modular fits better to it than other machines or the other way around. I mostly just use a midi track. Only in one video I used the cv tracks too but I will do that again for sure. Before that I had live with push which is relatively similar but can do more. I just had to start the computer and used the mouse often and so I sold it in the end. Too much possibilities aren't always the better choice for me. I had a Yamaha RS7000, Roland MC909, Korg ESX and some other smaller grooveboxes before ableton and I just always looked back to the way of turning them on and having fun. So I bought a Mc 909 again but sold it now after buying the force. For me it's the best groovebox i ever used. The video effects are a easy task. I just use Winamp with the Milkdrop Visualizer on the line in while recording. In OBS I use a second layer with Chroma Key ( used for greenscreening normally but you can choose the colors). That's all.

Nice! I like how you shape the sound with fast LFOs, adds a lot of character.

Nice! I like how you shape the sound with fast LFOs, adds a lot of character. That was a Audio Oscillator... Fm with the digital Evolver Oscillators.... But anyways, almost the same ... Thanks. Had time today... So I made another jam. Called it four squares because it's a simple standard synthesizer kind of with 2 squares on ae and 2 squares on evolver. Here it is: Thanks for watching.

Made a patch to test the new modules. All audio and gates from AE, just pitch cv from Akai force. Topograf in euclidian mode.
