Title: SWITCHMATRIX freeform melody-sequencer
Ingredients: 1 SWITCHMATRIX 4x4, 1 LFO, 1 POLAMIX, 1 2CVTOOL, 5v (from master), 1 Mult (I used 4BUFFER)[/b]
Recipe: For the melodic part i first saved some patterns on (almost) all of the 64 SWITCHMATRIX slots. Then i put a triangle lfo (reset synced) through one of the 2CVTOOL before going into cv pattern-select on SWITCHMATRIX. This way I could somewhat choose the range (attenuverter) and placement (offset) of the pattern to be switched.
Second i multiplied the 5 volts and put them all into 4 the matrix inputs. From the matrix out i sent three into POLAMIX (and one the KæstL Pitch in). With the POLAMIX i managed to tune and adjust the voltages somewhat by ear. I mostly tweaked the 2CVTOOL to change the range of patterns the LFO selected on the matrix while playing.
Result: For me it had some potential. Hard to explain what exactly happens inside the matrix. From trying to mix audio with the SWITCHMATRIX it seems more like a passive mixer (non-linear mixing? Another topic that gave some interesting/beautiful results when trying to pan audio this way). Anyways my point is when two or more 5 volt* inputs get summed i'm not sure they add up perfectly (there are other modules for that) and i assume they will "bleed" to other active outputs from what i know from trying it with audio signals. I'm not sure.
Next i would like to try this with running different note sequences into the matrix instead of only 5v sources. Will it get too chaotic? Last resort is always to quantize after, it just does not seem as fun.
I also found that with very fast cv/audio into the cv control of the matrix it does not seem to keep up and does not accelerate past its maximum processing speed.
Anyways here is a raw video, hope it can give an idea, it got quite reverby and low volume in the mix.
Edit: * I realise 5 volt added should not in theory become anything else haha. Attenuating them or combining sequences i'm more interested in trying

Yes, loaded Benisphere with a windows machince. First i thought it did not work because hemisphere looked the same (same saved startup setting). I have not tested it in depth, i use BugCrack kick and 8 step sequencer app for triggering it. Mostly the patch is driven by the Kastl Drum, it's pattern xor'ed with it's clock or lfo then inverted is triggering (slow?) envelope for the melody (if i remember correctly). I was happy Benisphere worked but I notice some extra noise when using Bugcrack for audio out of module. Blanking out the screen helps somewhat against this anyways.

I have only tried O_c audio out now with Benispehere firmware. It might add some more noise, compared to using it just for cv control. My guess it is based on if you use it for audio or just cv, more than what firmware is on. Sorry can't answer it more specifically. The installation was as easy when i changed from original to hemisphere. Been thinking about a seperate row for the "digital's". Does this mean you have them on seperate power supplies and only ground connected between cases? (Today the noise seems worse like a little sidechained beep. This was after making a crazy patch so i don't know. Just to let you know it might be an issue. I would not plan the o_C to be the nr 1 sound module)

I’ve noticed o_C causes a little digital noise. It’s worse when you’re in the menus tweaking paeans, and when it goes back to the performance view gets quieter again. Not enough to bother me, but it might some

‘Paeans’ should be ‘params’ but i quite like the correction

I noticed that too (when turning volume way loud and then on or off the screen). The extra noise i'm describing now is only when having it connected directly to main mixconsole and using audio app Bugcrack. For me it is still usable if careful with the gain levels, it becomes very apparent if turning the main mix too loud for example. Might matter more to some than others, i think a lot of it can be worked around with gaining just right. Maybe I already see this suggestion, what about a "noise gate" micromodule? I myself either embrace it or try work around it for now:)

‘Paeans’ should be ‘params’ but i quite like the correction adjust another letter and you have : “Tweaking Pagans” could be a good band name?
