I'm in two minds about this, so I thought I'd gather opinions I've recently done 4 live performances using the same AE setup — predominantly drone-based, but with flecks of rhythm and, in the last two, drops of spoken word samples. Each performance is a continuous piece, lasting between 30 and 45 minutes. After my last performance an audience member was chatting and remarked that my bandcamp didn't have anything particularly recent on it, so I figured I should put out these recordings. My first thought was to make an album of all four pieces 'as is', but worry that they are too similar, and perhaps would outstay their welcome, hence the question about editing I've posted it before, but the first show was this one:

My feeling is that there is no issue doing 4 similar pieces, people collect different versions of the same song...
Bandcamp let's you listen before you buy and, if a person wants the particular show they attended, they can always buy the individual track.

Yeah, maybe do 2 versions-- an edited highlights ("radio version"), and the full tracks? I'd probably be happiest with the long versions though, personally.

There was a (small) trend in the past with some electronics records, where you'd first have an album with seperate tracks and also a 'bonus track' with the whole thing mixed and edited together.

I have a few of those. I tend to forget it has the mix at the end and suddenly wonder why I'm hearing the same record all over again. Did I leave it on repeat or something? Oh no, it's the DJ mix.

I'm now thinking that maybe, rather than a huge 2+ hour single album, it's a series of albums with a number of short tracks made up of arranged/reassembled fragments of the source recording up front, and then the last track being the performance from whence the sounds came. Leaves things open for a 'guest mixes' type thing in the future Somewhat like this slice of awesomeness: prisma+ by Machinefabriek et. al
