Hello,
I'm having issues with my MIXCONSOLE. I am getting signal bleed with all level/volume knows turned down to zero on at least two level channels. In addition when the LEDs light up I'm getting popping noises. If the LEDs don't turn on I'm not not hearing any low frequency popping. When they're lit up I don't hear anything, only when the main level is high enough to turn them on.
It's very frustrating because I'm trying to record for Aetherwaves and an getting a lot of noises I don't want. I'll try to attach a video.

That sounds like pretty broken behavior. Did you rearrange modules recently or anything like that? I'm assuming this worked properly in the past-- if it's a brand new module and is broken sounds like it's time to talk to Robert about it.

It didn't bother me much because I was either well below LED on (headphones) or above (speakers). But now that I'm trying to record music for Ætherwaves it's a big problem.

Hi Mafic_Pulse, I see on your video that you have the main output volume of your Mixconsole up all the way. I find in my system that this exacerbates any noises I have in the system and therefore I try to gain-stage it in a way that I turn the main volume only up half way and amplify it further down the chain in my mixer and audio interface. There will always be some signal bleed in the system, but it can be managed with careful gain staging.

Is that digital sounding noise popping at the start from the mixer? Regardless of gain staging, there's something going on there unless it's background interference? (I've not from the system itself)
If you can easily, I'd be tempted to run the mixer directly from the master, disconnecting the rest of the bus boards. If you hear that clicking/popping then you know something is up.
If you don't I wonder about grounding/whether everything is plugged in right/how the cases are connected.

I appreciate the advice but I have to have the mixers (and sub mix modules) at full volume (or very close) to get a nice listenable signal. Gain staging with the Mixconsole is set-everything-to-max. If I don't have a bass signal (OSC2 on square wave) it's difficult to get the LEDs to get to green with all levels at max. I'm not sure if this is typical. I'm using ATHm50 and they work for every other piece of gear I use. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks, I'll try this after I record my patch. Only thing I can think of is recording at a super low volume and boosting it in post. Not ideal given the noise, but I appreciate that this is more of a lofi system and I don't mind the noise.

Not to say admin is wrong - I've had some success riding the levels on the multifx for example - but the system noise made by my o_c will always be present to the same degree if I set the mixer low and amp after back up to the same level. Fwiw I only get pops and clicks out of mine if I send them in (from the algodrine usually!) or if I wiggle the insert cables.

Mostly the pops when the LEDs light up and to a lesser extent, the signal bleed. Hopefully I'll get to plug in just the Master, Mixconsole, and swap out one oscillator at a time to see if there's correlation with the LED pops.

I had a similar cracking/popping noise when trying to record and video a V7 case jam out in the backyard last weekend. Noise happened more when moving the phone too close. I don't get that crackling noise inside using the same cable so I figured it was a mobile data roaming or some other interference. I should have turned it to airplane mode to test but didn't realise I had the noise until I packed up.
On the bleeding front I get less bleeding if I push the sliders to the left a little bit (not sure why). Using the 6Mute in the line is the best solution for me.
Maybe one solution if continues is to record a section of the crackling/noise at the start before then use Audacity to reduce the noise post.

I get the crackling when my phone is not on airplane mode as well. All the crackling in this video occurs when in touch knobs, or when the LEDs on the Mixconsole turn on. That's my main issue.

Was a slim chance but worth a shot. Hope it can be resolved for you.
