Another Renoise sync jam - Disco Choir! This is really nice track and yeah I was bobbing along to the beat as well ... It seems you are using Renoise purely as sequencer for you hardware gear? Are you then recording into Renoise as well or do you use an external recorder? |

Thanks for listening and passing comments peeps. I have an odd setup PC wise. As far as the AEM goes I just use Renoise as a clock and do all the note sequencing using the SEQ16 and TRIQ164 as I find the sequences flow better and with a better swing. Beats and pads I do using Renoise. But to hear both AEM and Renoise together I use 2 soundcards. So I feed the ASIO sounds from Renoise into a mixer on one channel and the clocked AEM into another and then feed the combined mixer sounds into the 2nd soundcard and record into Soundforge / Audacity as Renoise plays. I can't record directly into Renoise as I woud'nt be able to hear both signals together because of ASIO constraints. So I have concocted a daft way of doing it
Without going massively off-topic (i.e. the AE Modular)... I use Reaper for my DAW and it has the ability to route audio internally from/into other applications using its ReWire virtual Inputs/Outputs. You can download Reaper for free to see if it works for you - I use ASIO drivers for it. It may just provide you with a more internal solution and if doesn't, you haven't lost anything except a bit of time. It's also very cheap if you decide to keep it, and a very powerful DAW once you get it set up for you. A very quick google showed me that people do this very thing between Reaper and ReNoise if there's some mileage in further discussion, this can be moved to The Lounge. |
