Hey all! While m4vrick and myself are preparing something special for Superbooth, we already have a small teaser batch for the 555 fans! The updated 555 has following new/different features: - New frontplate design and beautiful pictures by Francesco Bernini / salmonetattico( www.instagram.com/the.salmone/ ) - Wider tuning range with the 'coarse' tuning knob - PWM range does no longer go into non-hearable range - Slightly better V/oct response - No aluminum frontpanels (sadly) due to temporary unavailability at supplier. Panel is now PCB material. Sales page, 9 modules online now: www.tindie.com/products/keurslagerkurt/kurt-m4vricks-555-vco-for-ae-modular/The awesome pictures are apparently too large for the forum, so go check them out on Tindie in all their glory Big cheers from Kurt & M4vrick, See you in May for the big update!

SWEET! I was wondering when the 555 would be back in stock. I really could use a pair of these. Sadly, it will probably be next month before I could order.

SWEET! I was wondering when the 555 would be back in stock. I really could use a pair of these. Sadly, it will probably be next month before I could order. This was a supersmall batch (10 pieces), but m4vrick and me are amazed that it almost sold out in one week. Because of the popularity, we immediately ordered 10 more boards to make another batch. So we hope to offer another batch in the first half of next month! So you should be able to buy one later as well, no hurry!

In the next stock what kind of panel Will there be? Aluminium? Good question! We are not sure yet, but probably not aluminium. I really like the aluminium, but i think we have a good reason to switch to a different method: We are trying to get all production and manufacturing done in EU. Partly because it will give us very fast build/prototype/experiment timings, and partly because we like the idea of supporting our local economies. Right now the last thing that is manufactured outside EU is the frontplates. They are done by JLC PCB, which is a great manufacturer and very cheap. But rather long shipping times, and again, we like to think of ourselves as a 'local manufacturer'. We are right now experimenting with a new material, kind of double-colored ABS. First tests are very promising, it seems to be a genius idea from m4vrick! It will make it possible for us to laser-etch the panels ourselves, which opens a ton of possibilities. More info on it soon, but it looks like the next run will have this material as frontpanel. We have been looking into European manufacturers for cut and etched aluminum frontplates as well, but they have very high costs in low volumes, which makes it impossible for us to get aluminum panels inside EU at our low volume.
