http://instagram.com/p/BgfEICQHAKc Using an old Buchla technique here to get pads from one oscillator. I'm simply running a fast into the oscillator (can't remember if I have the filter before or after or both) into 2x spring reverbs in series (can't remember if I could get this effect to work from one) I then think I might of ran it into the signal amp as the signal is very low coming back from the s/reverb. Added a bit of delay to spice it up. This is a very basic patch using this technique but as you can imagine you could get as complex as you want with this being modular. If you have a go at this let me know how you get on particularly if you're using 1 tank (reverb has to be set 100% wet).

this is fun... so Ive only got one spring tank, and actually thats on a KOMA field kit FX.... rather than AEM I can get a similar effect, not quite the same .. I think suspected the second tank, help wash it out just that bit more (doh, perhaps I need the AEM spring tank after all ) so what I did was: ARP -> OSC -> DELAY -> FILTER -> ENV/VCA -> SPRING TANK then tried to tune the delay such that the repeats help to wash out the individual notes, a bit of tuning of spring, filter, and the env times, gets a nice effect. what arp speed did you use? I found going much above 1/16 (120bpm) tend to make it warble a bit too much?! I then tried another approach ARP -> OSC -> SPRING TANK -> FILTER ->ENV/VCA this was a bit easier to get the right affect BUT I had to use 2 sequencer tracks, one was controlling the arp, but where I only used the pitch cv), the second was for the ENV/VCA (the idea was to create an oscillator out of the ARP/OSC/SPRING combo, and because its constantly running, its got a more constant wash (assuming you dont change the chord sequencer to quickly ) both were nice, but not quite as nice as your example.. I think that second tank really helps.... thanks for the idea, will definitely play with this some more ...

I think what I did here was arp->osc->s/verb->s/verb->s/amp->filter->delay->hp/amp I'm not to sure what tempo I used did that by ear. I think away round using 2 sequencers/arps one for the oscillator and one for the envolopes would be to use a clock Divider.

Thanks for posting this - it's something I'd like to investigate. I don't have the AE Modular spring reverb but do have a number of reverb, delays and echo machines to experiment with.
Quite amazing what can be achieved with just one oscillator!
