I have added DX-M to my GRAINS repository. DX-M is a MIDI-based version of DX. Thus it is an FM oscillator using sine waves. It has four algorithms:
- 1 Modulator with optional self-modulation, 1 Carrier
- 2 Modulators feeding into one Carrier
- 1 Modulator feeding into two Carriers differing in pitch
- 1 Modulator feeding into a second modulator, which feeds into a Carrier
Because it takes MIDI In, DX-M has certain advantages over DX. It has better pitch control, doesn't require a pitch knob (and so frees up that knob for more useful functions), and has a Gate Out.
