You can also use the old trick of mixing gate signals at different intensities, for example with an ATTMIX in DC mode. Patch the TOPOGRAF’s (or any other gate sequencer’s) gate outputs into the mixer and the mix output into a VCO‘s pitch input. Then you can tune each gate signal channel by turning down the according mixer knob. If two or more gates are high at the same time, they will add, creating a new pitch CV. Mmmm, my experience of mixing CVs, especially for use in pitch, has not been great. I wrote about it in one of the patch challenges. Being unbuffered, the voltages get pulled every which way. I should build some buffers, I guess My point is that the results can be unpredictable, which is not always a bad thing, unless it's pitch... Sometimes then as well, I suppose.

So I finally managed to edit and upload my first basic introduction video for the TOPOGRAF:

Wait until Robert gets the quantizers done...this should inject a lot more predictability into manipulating pitch CVs.

What a great idea to add voltages for melodies! Thanks!

Wow now i really can't wait for my topograf to arrive. Thanks for all the ideas. Same here!

I was thinking to buy a second one for only melodies. But that will happen only when I'll need a extension case (as soon as the Solina will appear on the shop). With the help of the Logic stuff can already get some nice interconnected lines...

The Topograf has the exact same program as MI Grids - but is it also possible to write alternate firmware as shown in this video? Especially: is Topograf compatible with this ATMEL Programmer used in the video?
