Can't make up my mind for my final modules in my rack2. If I swap out TRIQ164 for TOPOGRAF I'll be able to have all three drum modules and one module space left, which I thought might be good for a DIVIDER or another LFO.
The SEQ16 on my rack has has 16 gate outputs anyway so I figure it could be a good move. Anyone see any big advantages with keeping both TRIQ164 and TOPOGRAF in a rack?

TRIQ164 and TOPOGRAF cannot be compared very well; they do both trigger sequencing, but in a completely different way: TRIQ164 is a quite straightfoward 16-step, 4-track trigger sequencer where you can define your patterns exactly as you like; plus the ability to repeated "firing" individual steps. With TOPOGRAF you cannot do that; it is based on a bunch of patterns, that you can mix and match by the MAP X/Y knops and define the "densitiy" of triggers per channel. For me a quite different thing... I found TOPOGRAF nice in live playing where you can do very varied patterns on the fly. I know, this is not a good help for decision now... ;-)

I see the TRIQ164 as a very good rhythm player who has a few tricks up his/her sleeves. Whereas the TOPOGRAF is the more off-the-wall rhythm player who can still surprise you live with something that you didn't see coming.
You need both types, and you need to learn how to get the most out of them in different situations.
Fortunately, modules are easier to maintain than band members...!!!

Hmmm. Thanks Robert. I'd forgotten about the repeats. Somethings got to go though to accommodate all three drum modules:) (sizes up current extra 2Env for possible life in the drawer).

You can never have enough VCA's and you can never have enough sequencer. You could also look into Youtube videos on Mutable Instruments Grids to see the additional features Grids and it's 100% "clone" TOPOGRAF brings to your Eurorack.
I do have both sequencer and ordered two TOPOGRAF's for myself as TOPOGRAF is flexible and comes with so many features on top.

Clocking/sequential widgets on order + already here:
TRIQ16, STEP10, BEAT DIVIDER (x2), TRIP (x2, when they're released), MM-DIV (also, when released), DIVIDER, LOGIC (x2), OR2x4 (x2), TOPOGRAF, SEQ16 (x3), plus a rather hi-octane external comparator bank for extracting gates and triggers that're directly patchable to the AE.
And yes, you definitely want both the TRIQ16 and TOPOGRAF. Yes, they're trigger sequencers...but beyond that basic description, they're extremely different. TRIQ16 is four channels of triggers, everything goes in a nice tick-tock fashion. The TOPOGRAF, however, is based around these X, Y, and Z axes which can be CVed with all sorts of modulation signals to alter the pattern on the fly. So if you have your basic patterns going on the TRIQ16, you can then add the TOPOGRAF into this to introduce all sorts of crossrhythms, weird patterns and fills...or you can use it as a quasi-random timing source and, once you have its triggers extended into gate pulses, feed this to some logic for rhythmic ultra-craziness. Toss in the SEQ16, and it gets even more bonkers if you have more LOGIC or a OR2x4 or two handy.
And why is the STEP10 in there if I have the TRIQ16? Like they say in "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension" about that watermelon in the material test press, "I'll tell you about it later..."

I have a Triq64 and Seq16 on the way, Topograf will definitely be on my next order. I’m wondering what opportunities there are for them to interact with each other? For example, could I send a trigger output from the Topograf into the clock input of the Triq? Stuff like that?

Yes stuff like that, or the other way around or just for gates or for triggering envelopes or going into divider or syncing lfos or more. Really nice things are possible.

The TOPOGRAF, for me, will see a lot of action with the LOGIC module. If the TRIQ16 is the "straight" pattern and one channel of it feeds an AND, then the TOPOGRAF becomes the "joker" in the deck if sent into the other port of the AND gate. Lots of crossrhythmic abuse potential...
