Hello everyone, I'm happy to announce the release of the first collaborative album that features 14 incredible tracks from members of this forum! Check it out here: aetherwaves.bandcamp.com/album/aether-waves-vol-1NightMachines has published a really nice teaser video on his very popular Youtube channel A big thank you to everyone who helped make this a reality, especially the artists: NightMachines 101 handtapeloop bearheadwood arti krakenkraft bahm moruial karin rockysmalls Gaëtan neema spacedogThank you also again to NightMachines who helped immensely by offering advice where needed and of course by promoting this project on his YouTube Channel! A week or so ago handtapeloop approached us and offered an alternative graphics design for the album and label artwork which we really liked so big thanks for his hard work on that! And of course this whole project relied heavily on the help, advice, design and finally mixing, mastering and releasing the album all provided by the incredible spacedog! Thank you so much! And finally I would like to thank robertlanger for having the vision and bravery to just come out and giving us such a phenomenal instrument to play with. Thank you Robert!

Thank you Robert! great, super, smashing! it’s all looking and sounding good, I just bought the album, mainly to make a contribution to Roberts chosen and very worthwhile charity.. I was hoping the included Pdf would have more details from people about how they constructed the tracks patch diagrams etc .. but I think Carsten has gone for a more stylised approach?? for instance inserted above is the info and patch diagram i sent in with mine.. So I guess if not many people included such stuff, Carsten thought it would look weird or not have a ‘conformed’ look across the pages?? Maybe we can use this thread to include more notes or info on specific tracks.. eg: i really like the Space Flaneur track ( amongst others ) and would love to know more about its Ae contents.. my deets, as I said, are in the jpeg above. hopefully it’s readable? EDIT: ignore that yellow line on the patch diagram that doesn't connect to any Sockets!! don’t know how that got in there? but there is nothing missing from the rest of the illustrated wires.. apple ios notes is not the ideal place to do graphics!

Hi rockysmalls, yeah sorry mate, but you were the ONLY ONE who sent in such detailed info so I didn't really know where to put it. Please feel free to add any descriptions of your patches here in this thread. I'll make it stick at the top of the list for a while.

Either/both of "How did you do that...?" and " This is how I did that". That way, once listeners have had a chance to digest the tracks audibly, they can ask, and contributors can respond. There is a lot to take in with that compilation and only a handful of Forum members have bought it. We need to let it breathe a bit

We got a nice mention this morning on Chuck Van Zyl's Star's End radio show. Chuck asked for a copy of my last three releases, so I also included my contribution to our album, with a few notes. As it was only late in the week that he asked, I was surprised that it found its way into the show so quickly. Not only did he play that track, but he also talked a little about the AE Modular as well (without advertising it by name). He was interested in the concept of a value-for-money analogue modular synthesizer and had been reading up on it... I hope that my track showed off its potential So, a nice advert for our album and also for the synth itself. You can find some details of the show (it has a great history, as does Chuck himself), here: www.starsend.org/

Great effort from everyone involved. So good to hear an analogue electronic album with so much diversity of talent. Highlight for me was the Matt Wand track!

This was a great release to start things off I'm so happy that we got 14 tracks together and even though there is a great variety among the music styles, I still can easily listen to the whole compilation in one go, which isn't always the case for me with those experimental releases. Thanks spacedog and admin for making this happen Looking forward to the next Aether Waves!

After listening to it for multiple times, I find it remarkable how much you can recognize the AEmodular by its sound (or is it just me?). It may not be Moog, but it has it has unmistakable a true character on its own. In thirty years AEmod will be a classic and it will be traded for way to much money …

Maybe in 30 years Arturia will include it in their Classic Synth VST collection

Well Done to all that participated. I got a sense of each individual's musical character (so to speak) by the submissions.
Looking forward to everyone's future collaborations.

Wow! On the RADIO! How cool! Also look at Soviet spacedog .. playing just before Tangerine Dream! Chuck is a great supporter of new electronic music, his show is probably older than a few Forum members (it started in 1976). I was pleased that he enjoyed our project - I suspect that he will play more. Mmmm, maybe we should put the price up...? I was very pleased to be cross-faded into a Tangerine Dream Phaedra session rarity

The Star's End radio show, out of Philadelphia, (i.e. Chuck Van Zyl) has just posted his Top 30 albums from September on Facebook and I'm pleased to say that AEther Waves Vol. 1 is in there with such luminaries as Tangerine Dream. A super big "Well Done" to all artists I imagine that Chuck will play more from our album and he was genuinely interested in the AE Modular format, especially as it opens up the joy of modular to those who just can't afford it normally. As an aside, Chuck played an excellent live-to-air set this weekend, straight-up Berlin School and all improvised live on air. Really walking that tightrope.
