So I’ve been wanting this module for along time. But I’m Not really willing to go into euro rack.
I’ve been looking at all the details and schematics On there website.
What I’m curious about is would it be possible to make it work in the ae world.
Obviously it is currently 12v to power. These are also some of the specifications
Trigger input: 100k impedance, 0.6V threshold.
CV inputs: 100k impedance, +/- 8V, 12-bit 2kHz.
Audio I/O: 16-bit, 48kHz.
Internal processing: 32-bit floating point.
Does anybody think it would be doable? before I start exploring how it would work.

Hi,
this is doable definitely! The only modification that is necessary is the opamps for inputs/potentiometers, this has to be adapted slightly for AE modular's single supply +5V. I already did this for TOPOGRAF (clone of MI Grids) and currently also for MI Clouds that will be the next MI clone for AE modular. If you like, we can cooperate on this, because Rings is also one of the MI modules I want to adapt sooner or later.

Oooh if Rings and Clouds come to AEM, then I can finally ditch all my eurorack gear. Currently I have a 1U TipTop zrails kit with clouds and a few mults. Can't wait until I can ditch them 😂

I've also got to add my support for Clouds and Rings.
Of all the modular I'd considered scribbling down for future purchasing (before AE modular came along) those were two right at the top of my list. I was only willing to spend on them if I really went down the Eurorack route, but if these came out for AE modular, I'd be extremely happy.

I had Rings and Clouds in my rack and loved them! I have the Tomkat Cloudy so the Rings would be great! Cloudy and Solina would be a perfect match for ambiance for noodling guitar (or whatever else) over it! |

It will be a beautiful day in my AEM history! I'm currently working on MI branches. It works on the breadboard but it needs some fine tuning. This fork was the basis. github.com/joeSeggiola/arduino-eurorack-projects/blob/master/forks/README.mdI currently have to adjust the code a bit to use only 100k pots. I like the module very much. A little more random is always good. |
