Hello everyone! Just got my ae modular today and ive been playing around with it. One issue im noticing is that for some reason midi isnt being recieved by the ae master module.
Ive connected the midi out of my linnstrument (it is sending data through the midi jacks and it is using channel one) but the gate light on the ae modular master module never lights up no matter the note I play, im asummimg it should light up with every new note.
Connected the 2osc bus cv to the cv 1 and then the square wave of the first osc to the master audio 1 to see if anything triggered but nothing.
Tested the exact same cable/config to send midi to my zoia on channel 1 and it recieves everything correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
you are correct, the gate light on the Master module should light up when you send a key press.
Are you sure that the master module is set to receive on channel 1? The new master module version has a midi channel switch at the front.
Also are you using the correct MIDI-TRS adapter that came with the system?

Thanks for the quick response! Im afraid no midi breakout cable came in the package, the box labeled patchwires/midi breakout only came with a variety of patch cables, no mido cable. I am using the midi to 1/8 dongle that came with my zoia images.app.goo.gl/unmxfnNbpyp2ehQXAYou think the cable might be the problem?

Yes! There are in fact two different types of MIDI/TRS adaptors, Type A and Type B. AE Modular uses Type B
TRS MIDI Type B:
MIDI Pin 5 (Current Sink) – Ring
MIDI Pin 4 (Current Source) – Tip
MIDI Pin 2 (Shield) – Sleeve
If you bought the Starter Rack then you should have received the adaptor as part of the package. Please contact Robert and he may send it to you.
