Hey all!
So, I'm having some trouble with a project I've been working on. I just finished a quick case build to hold my AEM synth with my handful of Eurorack modules, as shown below:
(Hopefully the image is visible, I've had issues attaching photos in the past lol. If the image doesn't show, here's a link to imgur: imgur.com/gallery/gHQT8ps)
Anyway, the important point. I know that the back of the Master I/O module has a 10 pin Eurorack Bus point. I picked up a 10-16 pin Modular Power Cable so I could plug in the Master I/O into the flying bus cable from the Tiptop Audio microZeus power supply (shown in the bottom right corner of the eurorack section of the case). My goal is to have the power supply power the entire case, both Eurorack and AEM, so I can just flip the switch on the microZeus and have the whole thing turn on.
The problem I'm having is that for whatever reason, the power supply doesn't seem to work with the AEM synth. I have everything plugged in correctly (as far as I know), and I know the power supply works, as it has been powering the Moog Mother-32, but it's not working with the AEM. Is there anything special that needs done with the Master I/O module so it knows to pull power from the Eurorack Bus port on the back of the module? I do know it hasn't fried the Master I/O, as I haven't had any magic blue smoke, and plugging the supplied power cable into the Master I/O does work to power the AEM synth still.
From what I've seen of the adapter frame, the only thing you should need to power AEM with Eurorack power should be that 10-16 adapter cable, so I'm at a bit of a loss, and I'm looking for some help. The only thing I could think of would be that the AEM draws more power than the microZeus supplies, but I'm not sure if there's something I'm just missing.
Thanks for the help!
