Interesting tool. I've recently started etching PCBs at home (separate post upcoming) and a 3U board costs around $3.50 to make, but that's just a single-sided bare copper surface- no solder mask or any other protective layering, and I don't think I possess the skill and setup necessary to run those or a double-sided board accurately through my laminator.
Do some of these services really reliably deliver a finished product at a similar price point (not accounting for higher quantity)? How will a bare copper board differ from a finished board from the synth owner's perspective?
I guess I'm searching for details to figure out what circumstances best fit my use of these services. Buying 10 of the same board at minimum certainly narrows down the possibilities... But I could think offhand of three or four modules I have plans on making in prolific quantities, and if the shipping time and added expense led to a better end product and more convenient production, then it would seem to be something worth trying out.
