i had the honour of looking after Mr Tudor for 2 days back in the 90’s , in Amsterdam whilst he was waiting for his assistant to arrive from the US to work on a Merce Cunningham show.. it was post heart attack and he was a bit fragile but a really lovely guy. We went shopping for rubber stamps at The Stempel Temple ... and, of course, guitar fx pedals at Dirk Witte.. to be taken apart and wired into his neural synthesis boxes.. It's easy to forget that our heroes are often just ordinary people who are happy to meet you for a tea and chat. Ok, some are jerks, but just find other heroes in that case. indeed, and fragile... i must have had to throw myself in front of at least 3 maniac Dutch cyclists who expected him to leap out of the way like a gazelle just because they rang their tiny bell.. what part of hunched over old man walking with a stick at half a snails pace don’t they understand?

This is super exciting news! I'd love to order a kit quick question about difficulty. For context, I've successfully soldered several entry DIY kits at this point (e.g. Bastle Kastle/Tea-Kick, MTM mikrophonie) but royally screwed up a Dreadbox Antiphon which has made me allergic to DIY for a while now. Do you think this kit is safe treading?! namke can probably chime in... but i would say it comes under the ‘fairly easy’ category, 9 potentiometers, a good number of resistors ( all the same so no way to mix them up, two 8 pin headers and one IC. if you’ve done a Kastle then yr ok, this is nowhere near as small or cramped as that tiny board. that saying, mr Wonkystuffs prebuilds are solid.. so absolutely worth the extra £15... which is what i went for in the end. Thanks rockysmalls, super helpful. Cost isn't the deal breaker...it's the aspect of liking to solder but not always obtaining a desired outcome :p

Thanks rockysmalls FYI the build instructions are here — I've done them as a PDF so that I can modify them in case anything isn't clear, or there's a mistake… I don't think it's particularly difficult, but I am getting a bit bored of making them!

Ugh, yeah - sorry -- my fault for not reviewing my changes Hopefully it works now? (One day I'll maybe get the hang of wordpress!)

I wobbled on about third party modules and I hadn't even bought one... well, now I have and the Space Dogs shall be playing with it mightily sometime soon. If they get their paws working hard, it may even form the basis of a track for the new compilation

If they get their paws working hard, it may even form the basis of a track for the new compilation And here it is arrived and exceptionally well packed. Many thanks, namke, I shall install later and have a play. I will have to decide which module(s) are coming out as I am jam packed

Mine's on order now as well...built one, though, as I don't quite have workbench space here yet. Going to hold this for "cab 5", which is mainly for controller-type devices and is something I'm planning for 2021.

Whilst I accept that it's "easy" to swap modules around, personally I find it "fiddly as f**K" , so any semblance of design goes out of the window.
I did think about just getting a ribbon cable and connecting my spares up if I needed one or more of them, then I wondered about connecting the ribbon to a connection cable for neatness, but t I don't think you can buy the connection cable unless it's part of the Joint Kit, so by the time I've messed about I may as well just buy another case and I don't want to do that. The modules are staying in the box.
The build quality of the mm33 is very high, it's weighty and solid and the front panel is very nicely done. The pots are much kinder on the fingers as well. It's a lovely job, namke - I'll play with it this afternoon, I really should be thinking about a track for our compilation, as should you all

[...] I finally played with Tangible Grid and as you can see my system really has developed based on where there was a space, or what was easy to move. It doesn't really make any difference, of course, I can pretty much get between anything easily and the RACKLINK extensions are always helpful if I can't. I rather like my "Black Hole" in the middle of the system. Sadly, my home made Red Panel had to go in the box as well.
The estimated cost was interesting as well, I could have managed a decent case and maybe two of the modules that I was considering for my Musique Concrète system for the same cost in Eurorack. The new Behringer modules are different, but that's more bread and butter modular.

Many thanks for the feedback spacedog – glad that it arrived safely as well interesting comment from rockysmalls too… do you think the mm33 would be better with a bit more gain? It’s just above unity right now, but with a change of three resistors the gain could be increased. Perhaps for version 1.2? (Or perhaps a ‘mod list’ for it would be useful?)

My intentions for it are for paralleling/reproportioning modulation signals, so I need the amplification factor at its normal Unity-and-a-smidge. However, having the info handy would certainly be useful, just in case...

My wife just texted me that there is a "flat black package from the UK" in the mail.
I predict solder in my near future.
