I have a DIY (breadboard) module (and already ordered a second one).
I have an idea I already wrote in the future wish list.
For now I have not enough knowledge in electronics.
So I hope I can cooperate together with some others here to make something solid.
I will start with an easy descrition, only writing down the most important functionality.
The moduele should have:
5 audio inputs.
1 potentiometer.
5 audio outputs.
When the potentiometer is fully to the left no audio is going thru.
when the potentiometer is on 20%,
only the 1st input is connected with the 1st output.
when the potentiometer is on 40%,
the 1st input is connected with the 1st output and
the 2nd input is connected with the 2nd output.
when the potentiometer is on 60%, the 1st input is connected with the 1st output and
the 2nd input is connected with the 2nd output and
the 3th input is connected with the 3th output.
when the potentiometer is on 80%, the 1st input is connected with the 1st output and
the 2nd input is connected with the 2nd outputand
the 3th input is connected with the 3th output and
the 4th input is connected with the 4th output
when the potentiometer is on 100%,
the 1st input is connected with the 1st output and
the 2nd input is connected with the 2nd outputand
the 3th input is connected with the 3th output and
the 4th input is connected with the 4th output and
the 5th input is connected with the 5th output
There are 2 supplemental features I would lilke to implement.
1) between the inputs 1 to 4 and the outputs 1 to 4 there are switches,
in the first position the switch works like described above.
In the second position the connection is only in a window for example:
the second swithc is turned, then the second audio is only connected on 40%,
but not in higher positions, so it not connected at 60% or higher.
2) there is an additional CV in, this can override the potentiometer.
this would be a nice companion to the raw output of the SEQ8.
another option would be an additional knob.
position 1 means that the CV overrides the potentiometer.
position 2 means that the max of the CV and the potentiometer is used.
I think the base of this module-idea will be some comparators, probably triggering some transistors.
But I hope some AE-modular users have some support to develop this idea.
The 'left' part of the electronic schematics would look like something as follows, any comments, the R factors are not calculated yet :
