Here I a new thingy I've done today.
The paching is quiet chaotic and would be a mess to describe, but it envolve around the NOISE and the ALGODRONE. Two OUT of the NOISE are made to sound like winds blowing, and the ALGODRONE is the glitchy part. Everythings move with use of LOGIC, S&H, NOISE, LFO, VCA, ENV, ... The fun part was to use all the patch cable to create a spaghetti mess

How did I miss these? I love the dark side they have milk and cookies . Great textures and atmospheres. I hope there will be an Aether Waves 3, I would love to contribute. Question regarding the videos, does anyone have recommendations on free video fx that run on Macos to spice up videos?

Thank you kind sir. Indeed they have cookies, always good to have cookies 😊
About video editing, unfortunately I don't have a clue. I just annoyingly ask my girlfriend if it is possible to do something to spice up the sound and add a more visual thing and she magically does it. Wonderful creature she is. She does use Adobe premiere I think if it help.

Question regarding the videos, does anyone have recommendations on free video fx that run on Macos to spice up videos? For my videos I use the free software Shotcut. It works quite well and is pretty easy to get going with (i'm a total video editing disaster usually), also has quite some preset fx and such. I do use Windows however, not sure if it works on Mac!

Lately I was interested in drone music so I wanted to create more and experiment with my gear. The main goal was to use my Philips N4506 reel-to-reel tape recorder and make loops with it. The idea was to record my Yamaha Electone EL-40 and loop it at half speed. Unfortunately for unknown reason the tape recorder had so low level that it couldn't pick up the organ, I decided to work my way around. Instead I recorded the organ with a mini-cassette dictaphone to create the high end sound in the background, then it goes to a graphic equializer (with some manual twisting to shape the sound hile playing) and direct to the DAW with some reverb. The drony part is made with the Behringer Model D with a long decay/release and a very fast 1 not arpegio, opening and closing the filter manualy to give some motion. Crackles are frome the AEM to give a bit of rondomness. And finnaly the little melody is also from the AEM played with the Arturia Keystep.
Annnnd tadam! it give me this piece of ambient i really enjoy. Hope you'll like it!

This week I recived my new modules, and what better way to discover them than top do a little jam with some of them? So here is the first patch I've made.
The intro/drone is made with the DRON38 and DRONX, they are not yet completly in tune, but it's kinda hard, and i think they tend to detune by themselves. The second part, is the S0OLINA through the MS20 filter, nothing fancy, but it was quiet nice soundscape. And the last part is the WAVETABLES with lot of subtle modulation, sequenced by the S&H. The WAVETABLES is such a beautiful modul, it sounds great and have a lot of potential, I think I'll use this one alot in different ways.
The whole thing goes to the QUANTIZER in Pentatonic Minor.

This was beautiful! Yes the Drone38 is really hard to get in tune, but it's half the fun as you have no other choice than to listen very focused.

Thank you!
Indeed, but I've notice if tyou can tune each row perfectly to one note, then you can make beautiful chord. and if you have 2 DRONE38, you can make even more. But they are indeed quiet hard to tune, I'll have to spend more time tuning them

Drone and the need for exact tuning are exclusive imho, the power and esthetics of drone that appeal to me are exactly the different frequencies that are complementing/fighting producing all the unexpected overtones etc. I'm pretty sure the dron38 and the dronx mixer are well fitted for that purpose.

Sure thing! But for what I've used of the DRONE38 and DRONX, they are a bit too much "messy" and harsh. Not that it can't be nice, but for what I wanted to do, it's a bit too much. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic modules!

This piece is gold, the algo drone twangs are gravy. thanks for the patch tips, will be trying these this arvo.

Aaaaand another one
This one was made when I got the BioT, unfortunately it was made some time ago, and I don't remember the patch at all :/
I used the BioT with the 2TT/CV otherwise the change inb sounbd were too brutal to my taste, at least for this kind of evolving sound. The WAVETABLES was also used, as it's maybe my favorite module at the moment, and the rest is a spaghetti mess of wires and modules gogoing crazy.
As usual, the clip was made by my partner; and everything was recorded in one take.
Another one, more ambient-ish, should follow soon-ish. It has been recorded, but I think it may need some more tweak here and there to make it more enjoyable

Hi there folks!
Long time no see. I've been quiet busy this year and, and didin't took the time to stay around here much more. I've been lurking around time to time, reagind news about what you guys are doing, and boy you've been busy! Even if I haven't touch much the AEM this year, I've done my homework and published some music on my youtube channel, as well as working on an album. I've been busy also it seems
The AEM is still a great instrument on it's own but i do struggle more often thatn not to include it with other instruments. Anyhow, I did used it in the creation of this album so I thought of coming back here, saying hello, and sharing my work with you. Most of the sound design are made with various other synth, the AEM brings a bit of droning here and there, some noises, and crackles... I cannot remember witch part exactly are made with the AEM, as it was recorded during the year. Too often I was lazy to rename what instrument was used while recording, and at the end it wasn't that necessary to know wich instrument was used, as much as if the sound was good enought
So here it it, my first EP. Dark Ambient style, drony of some sort. Hope you'll like it with you give it a listen.
Hope to be more present in the future, and hope to work more with the AEM again!
