Thanks a lot for your efforts to all poeple here.
I don't have any bandcamp experience. Why can't I find this album site by searching bandcamp? Is it because it's not released or because of the ae symbol?

No, the Bandcamp page doesn't use the ligature (I only know what it's called after having to work out how to get it working in certain fonts ). Here's the link: aetherwaves.bandcamp.com/ and here embedded, for ease as well.
It was in my earlier post advertising the first three submissions. Well, now we have more and my next post will have the details.

We now have seven contributions and they are magnificent... hence the name of the new taster track, available here:
In alphabetical order (ish), we have contributions from the following:
The eagle-eared amongst you may notice that there are eight pieces - the last one is part of mine with a huge echo on it just to fade out.

Nice! I like those teasers Thank you! Crossing my fingers that we get at least ten tracks by the end of the weekend.

I really like this teaser, let's hope more people contribute to that first AEther Wave Compilation. Otherwise maybe some people can submit two tracks? (just an idea)

The Rising Sender appreciates the headroom I'm still waiting for that 1k hump, and my sausage fattener is armed and ready... I can feel another updated taster coming on soon, so if there are any more submissions lurking, get them in soon

It could be nice if there are more of these to ask for a picture of the patch to be supplied. I'm a sucker for liner notes, and it would be nice to read peoples' explanations of their patches along with the tracks they made.

Funnily enough, I created my track from one modular setup and I took a picture - not a great picture as those LEDs mess with my camera phone. Usually, I just pull the cables out, but this time (as I had worked so hard to use only the AE Modular for every sound), I was a little bit proud of myself, so I kept a record

Once I have everything, I will set about tagging each track with whatever information contributors send through to me. My intention was to include a simple pdf (or pdfs) with whatever detail is sent through in longer format. Basically, if I have information, I will include it. I used Ambient initially just because it defaulted to that, although I'll change the actual album to Electronic. I used London as it's where I live When I picked the home town for Tangible Waves it threw up a few interesting problems as Bandcamp then treated me as though I lived in Germany. In the end, it was easier to just align it to me. Any thoughts on how we package this up are gratefully accepted. Whilst I have a number of personal Bandcamp accounts, they are geared towards me, not a group of people who exist as a forum

I like the liner notes idea! For my track I went the old school MIDI sequencing and multi-tracking route, something I had never done before for a complete modular synth song. It's weird, but I usually just jam or at the most I sequence my modulars form inside the racks. Anyway ... using the standard acoustic piano sound, I composed three tracks of monophonic MIDI notes on the iPad in Cubasis, which I then connected to the AE MASTER I/O module's MIDI port via a Zoom U-24 interface. When I felt good about the melodies, I recorded several patches per MIDI track in individual passes, going as far as recording only the lead sound's attack portion once for each ear, then the body of the sound, etc. layering everything on top of each other and panning it for a stereo effects. Since most analog synths drift slightly all of the time, recording the same pattern twice and then panning the audio hard left and right can create subtle stereo differences ... just be careful regarding phasing when the song gets mixed to mono, like when listening on a phone speaker. In addition to the melodies I also synthesized and sequenced simple drum patterns based on the iPad's MIDI clock, using the same technique of multi-tracking and layering to sculpt more complex sounds from several simple patches. This felt very satisfying somehow and I ended up with 20 individual tracks. One issue I faced with my "version 1" VCOs was tracking of course, so I ended up having to record individual notes at one point to get my bassline halfway into tune with the lead sounds. This was very easy with Cubase on the iPad though. I really look forward to do this again for a later compilation

Absolutely no need to apologise, rockysmalls. Sometimes a forum post can be a very blunt instrument, so I do always try to put smileys in to show my feelings. I also accept that British (especially London) humour doesn't always resonate with everyone
I do hope that you find the time to finish your track. As admin said elsewhere, if you let us know it's coming we can take account of it. The same goes for anyone else out there - do please let us know if you are able to submit something, but that you might be slightly late. Of course, there will come a point where it's awkward, so don't leave it too late.
Finally, if anyone wants just to fire up the modular and improvise - have a go, have fun, and see what comes out. You never know, just remember to press record before you start, you can always delete it if you don't like it and no one will ever know

Thanks … but: If only it would be that easy … "send message" cannot even be found in the source code of the user page … maybe my "user level" is too low for PMs or something like that.

Now that you mention it, I think someone else had a problem as their number of posts was too low and the message facility just wasn't there. If anyone else has this problem, just send me a message via the Bandcamp page with your Forum name and I will message you. I think you can then reply.
